About the Foundation
Since 1959, our company has grown from a single truck driven by Don Bowman to a company that is now the eighth largest employer in Washington County, MD. We currently have approximately 930 employees within six divisions:
- D.M. Bowman, Inc. – the trucking division
- Bowman Trailer Leasing
- Bowman Logistics
- Bowman Truck Leasing
- Bowman Development – real estate
- Bowman Hospitality – hotels and restaurants
Success within these divisions allowed us to start an official Family Foundation in 2007. Our first year was small, with a distribution of $4,000 to three organizations. Since then, we have had continued business success which resulted in a steadily increasing fund. We currently distribute over $800,000 each year.
